Driving School Association of Louisiana

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I open a Driving School?

Owning and operating a driving school is very demanding of your time and energy. We recommend you attend a DSAL General Meeting and speak to driving school owners about the rewards and demands of owning a driving school before you attempt to start your own school. Keep in mind that whenever teens are out of school (Christmas, Spring Break, Summer) you will be very occupied. Most driving schools do 40-50% of their teen business in the 2 ½ months of the summer. Driving Schools in Louisiana are regulated by the Office of Motor Vehicles.
